Valdarno is west of Arezzo and it is crossed by the Arno river, which flows from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cosmundus.com\/destinations\/casentino-and-tuscan-valtiberina\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Casentino<\/a> toward <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cosmundus.com\/destinations\/florence\/\" class=\"ek-link\">Florence<\/a>. Val di Chiana is instead located south of Arezzo and houses the historic town of Cortona.
