Vicenza remained relevant throughout the Middle Ages before being absorbed into the domains of Venice. The Renaissance was the city’s golden age, when Vicenza thrived with the construction of numerous lavish palaces, many of which were designed by Andrea Palladio. The city eventually became part of Italy in 1866, and now it’s a notable industrial center, while also being visited for its culture and architecture, with many of its Renaissance palaces being listed among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Places to see in Vicenza

✪ Basilica Palladiana

✪ Piazza dei Signori

✪ Teatro Olimpico

✪ Palazzo Chiericati

✪ Palazzo Leoni Montanari

✪ Sanctuary of Santa Maria di Monte Berico

✪ Villa La Rotonda

Villa Valmarana ai Nani

Torre Bissara

Piazza delle Erbe

Vicenza Cathedral

Roman Cryptoporticus

Church of Santa Corona

Natural History and Archaeological Museum

Palladio Museum

Palazzo Thiene

Parco Querini

Piazza Castello

Giardini Salvi

Church of San Lorenzo

Basilica of Santi Felice e Fortunato

Risorgimento and Resistance Museum

✪ Basilica Palladiana

The Basilica Palladiana is a large building dominating over Piazza dei Signori and Piazza delle Erbe.
