The cathedral has a beautiful monumental facade, and adjacent to the structure is a wide cloister. Inside, the church houses a huge cycle of well preserved Byzantine-style mosaics made between the 12th and 13th century. The cathedral also features various other artworks and decorations, while adjacent to the church is the <strong>Diocesan Museum of Monreale<\/strong> (<em>Museo Diocesano di Monreale<\/em>), which hosts numerous historic religious objects and art pieces.
